Example letter

Dear Hiring Manager,

I'm applying for the Customer Success Manager role at Lumen Payroll. For the past three years I've managed a book of 60 small-business accounts at Brightway HR Software, and keeping customers like yours happy with their payroll is the work I know best.

At Brightway I own each account from onboarding to renewal. I run a 30-day onboarding plan for new customers, hold quarterly check-ins and track account health in Gainsight. Last year my accounts renewed at 94 percent, the highest on our team of eight, and I grew their total contract value by 18 percent through add-on modules customers asked for during check-ins.

Your posting asks for someone who can turn support problems into product feedback. I started a monthly summary of the top issues my customers raised and shared it with our product team; two of those issues, both about tax form exports, were fixed in the following release.

I'd like to bring that same mix of customer care and follow-through to Lumen as you grow your small-business customer base. Thank you for your time. I'd welcome the chance to talk about how I can help your customers succeed.

Sincerely, Priya Desai

How to Turn Your Resume Into a Cover Letter

  1. Upload or paste your resume

Upload your resume as a PDF or Word file, or paste its text into the first box. Nothing is saved after the letter is written.

  2. Paste the job posting

The generator reads what the employer asks for, then chooses the two or three parts of your resume that answer it.

  3. Edit and send

Add a detail in your own words, then copy the letter, download a Word file or save it as a PDF.

A Cover Letter Isn't Your Resume in Paragraphs

A resume lists everything; a cover letter picks. The generator matches the posting's top requirements to the experience on your resume that proves them, and explains each in a sentence or two, so the letter adds to your resume instead of repeating it.

  • Uses only what's on your resume
  • Picks what fits this job
  • Never saved after it's written
  • Copy, Word or PDF

Resume to Cover Letter FAQ

Can I upload my resume as a PDF or Word file?

Yes. Press Upload PDF or Word, or drop the file on the resume box. Your browser reads the text on your device and the file is never uploaded to us. Check the text it fills in: columns and tables can come out jumbled. A scanned resume has no text to read, so paste it instead.

Will the cover letter repeat my resume?

No. It picks the parts of your resume that match the job posting and explains them, rather than listing every job. The letter is 250 to 400 words.

What if my resume doesn't match the job well?

The generator never invents experience. It leads with the closest real experience you have, such as transferable skills from another field. For a career change, say in the job description box what draws you to the new field.

Is my resume stored?

No. Your resume and the job description are used to write the letter and then discarded. We never use them to train AI.

Does it write resumes too?

No. It writes cover letters from the resume you already have. See the internship cover letter example or the dental assistant example for ideas on what to highlight.
